Role of Artificial Intelligence in Improving Diagnostic Accuracy of Histopathology

Abstract

Histopathology is an essential diagnostic technique for
a number of diseases including cancer. It has been accepted
worldwide as the gold standard forthe diagnosis of neoplas1
tic disorders.
Since the middle of 20th century, the histopathology
reports have been increased significantly in both the length
and context and are becoming more complex. With the
advancements in pathology, updated and more complex
criteria are in practice for grading and staging systems,
along with the comments on status of resection margins.
There is an urge that the histopathologists should develop
new methodologies for the documentation of this information.
